Ho-Ly Ha is an Associate Lawyer at Progressive Legal Solutions, with a practice focused on family law litigation. Since her call to the Bar, she has developed experience representing clients in challenging family law matters, combining thorough legal research, careful preparation, effective negotiation, and strong courtroom advocacy.
Ho-Ly handles a broad range of family law disputes, with particular experience in high-conflict matters involving parenting time and decision-making responsibility. She understands the sensitive nature of disputes involving children and works to protect her clients’ interests while keeping their children’s well-being at the forefront. Her practice also includes matters involving domestic abuse and child protection proceedings.
In addition to parenting disputes, Ho-Ly represents clients in financial matters arising from separation and divorce, including child support, spousal support, property division, and equalization of family property. She helps clients understand their legal rights and options, whether they are working toward a negotiated resolution or preparing for court.
Ho-Ly has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, and her litigation background extends to appellate-level proceedings. She also brings valuable experience from her work in refugee law, where she advocated for clients before the Refugee Protection Division and Refugee Appeal Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.
Originally from Montreal, Ho-Ly is fluent in both English and French and offers fully bilingual legal services. Her ability to communicate with clients in their preferred language helps them navigate complex legal issues with greater clarity and confidence.
Beyond her legal practice, Ho-Ly is committed to supporting the next generation of legal professionals. She regularly volunteers as a judge for undergraduate moot court competitions, helping aspiring lawyers develop their advocacy and courtroom skills.
Outside the office, Ho-Ly enjoys spending time with her family and spoiling her beloved dog.
